Importers and Agents of Extraordinary Wines

For over 50 years we’ve been championing the very best of the Old World; uncovering the new and exciting wines others have overlooked.
Still Going Strong.

The Moreno Story

Over 50 years ago we were founded in a tiny shop in Maida Vale, London. While we - thankfully - no longer bootleg wine in our cellars, we still have that same streak of rebellion, pioneering spirit and spark of esoterica that has kept us at the forefront of the UK wine trade all these years.

As importers and agents for extraordinary wine, we pride ourselves on representing the best the Old World has to offer, and sniffing out the most interesting wines we think the UK market deserves to drink. Even if they didn’t quite know it yet.

Championing the Classics

Our focus on the the New Old World means we’re best placed to help you build an interesting yet relevant range. Others may have larger portfolios and deeper pockets than us, but if you’re looking for a fresh take on an old classic - wines with soul and story, that your customers want to buy over and over - you know where we are.

Commercial Niches

We can be a bit niche. We make no apologies for that. But it’s this offbeat-ness that keeps our ideas fresh and our curiosity high. But Moreno is built on a keen understanding of the commercial landscape and consumer palate. For that reason, we’re constantly on the look out for new and innovative wines that can fit seamlessly into the UK market.

Size Matters

Small teams get things done. They have fewer distractions. They can be flexible, fast in decision-making, and even quicker to respond to change. Fortunately, we’re just that - all sat around the one desk - and while it still allows us to have all the edge over the big guys, we’ll keep it that way.

What we value

Philosophy

We believe in delicious wines, made by true artisans. Wines that have soul, story and character. And we're as much about distributing them as far and wide as possible, as we are about sharing their stories with those who will listen. There are some wines out there that the world just deserves to know about, and people deserve to drink. Thankfully our portfolio is full of them.

In the beginning

History

Over 50 years ago we were founded in a tiny shop in Maida Hill, London. First as a local merchant, then a specialist importer of Spanish wines, and now representatives of extraordinary wines of all origins and colours.

While we - thankfully - no longer bootleg wine in our cellars, we still have that same streak of rebellion, pioneering spirit and spark of esoterica that helped us become the first to import Txakoli to the UK, champion Sherry before they got a regional marketing budget, and remain at the forefront of the trade for half a century. While we’ve a long way still to go, we’re pretty proud of where we’ve come from.
